01 / The work المشروع

A permanent record for every tree standing in Qiddiya City.

سِجلٌّ دائم لكل شجرة قائمة في مدينة القِدِّية.

Across the wadis and ridgelines of Qiddiya, a quiet inventory is underway. Each standing tree is approached, identified, and assigned a number. A small weatherproof tag is fastened to the trunk; coordinates are taken; the canopy is measured.

تجري في وديان القِدِّية وعلى مرتفعاتها أعمالُ جردٍ هادئة. تُقصد كلُّ شجرةٍ قائمة، فتُحدَّد هويتها ويُخصَّص لها رقم. وتُثبَّت على ساقها لوحةٌ صغيرة مقاومة للعوامل الجوية، وتُسجَّل إحداثياتها، ويُقاس امتدادُ تاجها.

The work is meticulous, and the scope is total — every tree in the city, individually surveyed and recorded. By the time the census closes, Qiddiya will hold the most complete botanical record of any city in the region.

العمل دقيقٌ ومتقن، ونطاقه شامل — كل شجرة في المدينة، تُمسح وتُسجَّل بشكل مستقل. وعند اكتمال الإحصاء، ستملك القِدِّية أحد أكثر السجلات النباتية اكتمالاً في المنطقة.

Each tree carries a small weatherproof tag with a unique identifier. Open your phone's camera, point it at the QR code, and you arrive at that tree's individual record.

The work
المشروع

The Qiddiya Tree Census is a baseline botanical survey conducted by KPB on behalf of the Qiddiya Investment Company. The work establishes a permanent, individual record for every tree standing within the city.

يعد إحصاء أشجار القِدِّية مسحًا نباتيًا أساسيًا تنفِّذه شركة KPB لصالح شركة القِدِّية للاستثمار. ويُنشئ المشروع سِجلًّا دائمًا ومستقلًّا لكل شجرة قائمة في المدينة.

Each tree is tagged with a weatherproof identifier and entered into the census. The records remain with the trees as the city grows around them.

تُوسَم كلُّ شجرة بلوحةٍ مقاومة للعوامل الجوية، وتُدرَج في الإحصاء. وتبقى السجلات مرتبطة بالأشجار مع تطور المدينة من حولها.
